A guide to late 19th century prospecting with extensive geological and mineralogical information. Includes stories of lost mines and methods of fraud. Slight wear at outer tips of boards, top, bottom and edges of spine. Small tears at middle bottom pp. 187-188, 389-392, middle outer edge pp. 483-484. Pp. 421-424, 449-456 not completed opened at bottom. Occasional creasing of pages throughout text, usually near gutter, probably from binding problems. "2361" in ink upper outer edge front pastedown endpaper. Stripes on photo of binding do not exist, just an optical effect. 2nd. ed., rev.. No DJ.
